Hot chocolate, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...

I like to tell people my favorite season is the Christmas season. There is nothing I love more than snuggling up under a pile of blankets while a Hallmark Christmas movie plays. And of course my go-to drink is hot chocolate!

This awesome blanket was a Christmas gift!

Everyone is well aware of my love for all things related to Hallmark Christmas movies!

A hot chocolate like no other.

This past year I've made the conscious effort to be aware of what I was putting into & on my body. Given my love of downing hot chocolate everyday for 4 months straight, I knew I needed to find something that wouldn't be filling me with sugars & empty calories (not matter how delicious they were)! Then I found Beyond Hot Chocolate! This hot chocolate has some secret ingredients you will NEVER taste. Do you know what they are? MUSHROOMS!! Crazy, right?

Stick with me though, I haven't lost my mind, I promise! Mushrooms (the exotic ones you don't find regularly at the grocery store) have so many therapeutic properties as founded in traditional medicine. The Reishi Mushroom in particular has been used to help enhance the immune system, reduce stress, improve sleep, and lessen fatigue. People also take reishi mushroom for health conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease. Now, aren't you excited to upgrade your hot chocolate this holiday season!?

Upgrade Your Hot Chocolate Mix

With your new hot chocolate mix you can now throw in some extra goodies every once in a while without feeling guilty! Here are some of my favorites!

  1. Caramel: After chocolate this is my biggest weakness! Drop a tablespoon of your favorite caramel sauce in your hot chocolate and give it a good mix before your first sip!

  2. Espresso or Coffee: My husband would put coffee in everything if he could! Stir in a tablespoon of fresh brewed coffee or espresso or you can use instant!

  3. Maple Syrup: It's for more than just pancakes! Just a teaspoon of this unique flavor can give your hot chocolate new life!

  4. Peanut Butter: If this is your thing drop a tablespoon or two and mix! I'm old school and make my hot cocoa on the stove, so I'd suggest dropping this in while your drink is still on the stove to make sure it really gets mixed in there!

  5. Cinnamon, Nutmeg or Vanilla extract: 1/4 teaspoon of any of these will give your hot chocolate some extra flair!

And with your new upgraded hot chocolate mix you may also want to try out some fun new recipes!!
